Schuldt often paints from personal experience. The painting Muse, for example, reflects on the struggle with not getting around to painting. Kristina Schuldt lives and works in Leipzig. She is part of the Neue Leipziger Schule, the collective name for the fourth-generation Leipzig painters who received their training at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst.
